Silk Screened Prints
These are my new silk screened prints! I’m not aiming on becoming a silk screen printer (I still adore painting originals with ink) but I fancied trying something new and this is it (inspired by my mum who started to dabble). They are all drafted and are prepared by hand (I draw the designs on the screens and cut the stencils myself) from an original drawing by myself and the editions are quite small. Within the editions I like to experiment, so most of the prints are unique. At the end of the editions the screens are then cleaned (and therefore the image is destroyed) and the completed edition has been produced and finished for ever. The images displayed are the whole size of the paper and these can be cropped by your framer if you so desire. I am not a silk screen printer so have added these completed paper sizes to show all variations of the prints and the anomalies that pop up during the printing process, which I like!I am an advocate for ‘mistakes’ and feel that these 'mistakes' add to the final print... nothing is perfect in life and so this should be the same with art. Take a look and see how you feel! Each description will have the edition size and the number of the print within this edition.
